Looking back at our 2024 software predictions, AI and machine learning (AI/ML) have continued their rapid expansion. In medical devices, AI/ML applications surged, with over 350 approved or pending devices by 2023 and 100 more added in 2024, particularly in radiology. Robotics also advanced as AI-driven vision and navigation systems powered semi-autonomous solutions. Drone delivery pilots expanded across the U.S., though regulatory hurdles slowed broader adoption. Despite challenges, these trends are accelerating, positioning AI, robotics, and medical software innovation for even greater breakthroughs in the coming years.
