For a handful of larger, more complex product development initiatives, we collaborated with clients to lay out both near-term and long-term business and technical objectives and a roadmap with budget and schedule estimates to achieve those goals. Outlining a technical plan that methodically reduces risk towards achieving critical milestones and identifying how much funding is needed by when is valuable input to a company’s investment and/or venture capital strategy. In most cases, there is no need to bite of the initial effort if you don’t have the appetite or understanding of what it realistically will take to be successful.
